The Latest Page(s)

I worked on two pages these last few weeks.  A few things about my scrapbook"ing" style...I always use a white background.  I don't like the look of "busy" pages.  I think the photos over embellishments/pattern paper should always take center stage.

Secondly, I really don't spend a lot of money on my pages.  It is always a personal challenge to create pages with whatever tools I have on hand.  I go to the scrapbook store about 2-3 times a year and spend 40-50 dollars or so (this includes the cost of the albums themselves.)  I do own a cricut- I purchased my cricut used, but this is probably the one exception to my rule of not spending a lot of money on scrapbooking.
You can see evidence of my cricut on most my pages.

Pregnancy Update

At 28 weeks I am feeling pretty great.  As compared to my first pregnancy this second pregnancy is a breeze.

I am having a little trouble sleeping and my backaches a bit, but otherwise wouldn't really even notice I was pregnant.

First Reflections On Staying Home

It's been about one month as a stay at home mom.  Has it sunk in that i won't be returning to school next year?  Yes.  Honestly, it was a huge weight off my shoulders to be able to focus on just my family.  I know I will miss teaching a lot, but I also know the large amount of work that is required to do it well, and frankly I won't miss all that work.

My goals as a stay at home include:

1. Cooking good food for my family.  Shopping for the best deals and keeping to the grocery budget.

2. Keeping Fulton entertained and  his mind stimulated at home.  Giving him lots of structure and the tools needed to develop into the handsome, capable, boy he was born to be.

3.  Provide for baby and help this new little one learn to trust and feel love in this world.  (Did I tell you how excited I am for the baby?  Well, I AM, big time!)

4.  This Blog!

Latest Page #2

12x12 - card stock, 5x7 photo.  Original inspiration again from Ali Edwards at: http://aliedwards.com/2011/04/heart-this-photo-scrapbook-layout.html.  I used my cricut to make the hearts and the tag with paper scraps I already had.

Latest Page #1

I had two photos of Fulton from before his first birthday I had not made a page for yet.  (Now his "baby" book is up-to date.)  Here is the original inspiration for this page: http://aliedwards.com/2011/07/life-is-good-scrapbook-layout.html   As you can see, I used Ali's repeated stamp idea on this page.  It's a 12x12 page and the photo is a 5x7 cut down.  The boxes are hand drawn.
